"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39)

Beginning & the Word

We begin our spiritual journey by means of the Lord Jesus Christ. May He keep us from stumbling and guide us to His light. I pray he blinds us to our ignorance and shineth the light of His glory in the darkness and depravity of our nature. May God bless these words.

Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Jhn 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Jhn 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

What is Christ relationship to time?
What is Christ relationship to the Holy Trinity?
What is Christ relationship to the universe?
What is Christ relationship to man?
Why is he referred to as the Word?

No place else in the Bible is the Deity of Christ so fully expressed than in the gospel of John. First He is eternal, alpha and omega, without beginning or end. Arthur W. Pink wrote that "few could comprehend the solitariness of God", to reflect on in the beginning is a staggering thought (Isa 44:6). Even harder, for at least me to understand, is the relationship of one true God existing in three divine persons. Each clearly distinguishable from the other, yet the three persons are equal (Mat 28:19). Do we truly understand or are thankful to God the creator. A sovereign God without any limitations, creator of all things physical and spiritual (I Chr 29:11). Finally how naive we are to think we can begin to fully comprehend Christ relationship to a sinner. God is the spiritual light and the unregenerate man is blind and in the darkness and cannot and will not see (II Cor 4:3-4). I close with the hope of "The Word". The Word is the medium of manifestation. The Word is the means of communication. The Word is the method of revelation. To us Christ is the message and massager, and through Him is everlasting life.
