"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39)

What seek you

I pray that God will wipe away any foolishness in our words and lift up any truths. My hope is that we may find our resting place through His word that we may have comfort just to abide with Him.

Jhn 1:35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
Jhn 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
Jhn 1:37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
Jhn 1:38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
Jhn 1:39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
Jhn 1:40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
Jhn 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
Jhn 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

What seek ye?
Are there any similarities or contradictions between these verses and Mark 1:16-20?

What seek ye? What would be your answer? In those days many followed for various reasons the miracles, the loaves and fishes, or because it was the popular thing to do. Are you seeking ease, comfort, pleasure, or maybe to stop a pain or guilt? What seek ye? The answer to this question can reveal ones soul. For me it is not what but whom. Many seek for themselves, no matter how you look at it, it’s what they are doing and what they will get in return. Fewer seek for Him, for His glory, for His mercy, and revere His sovereignty. If your zeal for Christ is to keep yourself out of hell is that truly to glorify God. Do you seek a path to heaven to save yourself, or is your driving force just to abide with Him. I pray that God may continue to give me faith to say "as the heart panteth after the water, so panteth my soul after thee, O God" Psa 42:1
