A Place to Worship

I pray that God touches these words and that we may worship the Father and His Son in Spirit and truth.

Jhn 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Jhn 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

- Who is the "we" referred to in vs 22?
- Compare the correspondence with this women to the statement made in Mat 18:20.
- Why is Jews the chosen for salvation?

How many get up every Sunday morning and do nothing more than give lip service because they feel it is what they are suppose to do. How many before eating a meal pray out of mere habit. How many times people seem more concerned with how or where to worship instead of who. True worship should not be like the Samaritans. They believed worship was to be done only in the mountains of their fathers and their methods were steeped in symbolic rituals, but they had no divine rule or word for all of their traditions. True worship should not be compared to the Jews either. They rested upon rituals, ceremonies, and law (Heb 9:6-10). They thought themselves as a chosen nation and strictly followed the pattern of faith but without sincerity. Finally true worship is not in many of the churches of today. With all the ornate decorations, stained glass, and elaborate ceremonies that are only lusts for the eyes. Does a full band or fancy choir sound any better to God’s ear than a praise sung off key from someone’s heart. Many churches seem more concerned with packing the pews and creating fun programs to involve everyone than preaching the gospel. All of these things just appeal to the flesh but sadly are without substance. The hour of reformation in and through Christ has come, when true worshipers of God all worship God in Spirit, heart, and truth as opposed to temples, ceremony, and ordinances (Phil 3:3). This is the will of the Father that He is glorified.
