I sometimes write these thinking this one is geared towards believers and at other times I may write one and think this one is for the unbeliever. I guess I really shouldn’t worry or think about that for it is God’s Word we are studying and it is Him that teacheth. I pray whether lost or born-again that we come humbly and it pleases Him to reveal His message to us and in that we may keep His saying.

Glory of His Grace by Tim James a pastor from North Carolina.
What must I do to be saved? Written by myself.
Jhn 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
Jhn 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
- How does this demonstrate the flesh?
- How did they see Christ compared to Abraham?
We dealt with in the last verse God seeking us while we were dead and estranged from Him. We saw man’s responsibility in believing on God’s promise. This not as a condition but a result of Christ finished work. But what of man’s will? Left to himself we see man’s nature revealed in these verses before us. For those Christ died for, for those He will seek, for those He will find, for those who will harken to His voice, for those now being filled with the Spirit; all shall and will keep His saying. I mentioned in the last word that we should be humbled and rejoice in our place with the Lord. Dear reader do you see beauty in God’s electing grace. I say to you if you do not, He has yet to humble you and reveal to you the deeps of sin and the blackness of your soul and nature. No matter how plain the speech or how well the scriptures are expounded upon to you, the unregenerate are unable to understand. Unable because they have no interest, unable because of self-righteousness, unable because they seek darkness, unable because they are blind and deaf to the things of God, and unable because they are spiritually dead. Dear reader once again what are you thankful for. I pray that if you do not see love in the choice of your eternal life in His hands that God may humble your hard heart and reveal the love and mercy in the selfless gift of His son for His elect.
(I John 5:20) “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
