"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39)

To God be the Glory

With this we have hit what seems to be some kind of milestone. This is the 100th addition of the Word of the day. I guess there is something about doing this 100 times even though that number really doesn’t carry any significance in the Bible. Maybe we should have celebrated at 40, 70, or even anything divisible by 3. I guess we still have 7000 to look forward to. Well reaching 100 only caused me to pause and reflect on the message and the massager, which is neither me nor mine. May it please God to teach us from these words.

With a special addition come bonus articles. Plus I am trying to get that divisible by 3 thing in. All these touch the heart of why we are here.

C.H. Spurgeon I realize I reference him a lot but here is another excellent devotion he wrote on the Best Sermons
Octavious Winslow wrote this on the warnings of Human Guidance, something we should all take to heart
Finally in my additional words I wrote this on better understanding the Bible but fell it is worth reading and applying here and in any message you receive.

Jhn 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
Jhn 8:49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
Jhn 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Jhn 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

- Why didn’t Jesus answer their first part of the question?
- How does a man never die?

It seems wrong to personalize the words of Christ but in that I humbly say that these words I seek not for my own glory but for the one that seeketh and judgeth. Only God knows this to be true and I carefully submit these words and pray God strips away any foolishness in them. If these ignorant ramblings I add are meant to try to prove others wrong to be the judge of enlightenment and reason, I pray God ceases my hands from writing anymore. If these attempts of explanation are for my praise, I pray God causes me to stumble and fall. Had my own thoughts and additions been the object and focus instead of praying fervently over His words, may He shaken me to open my eyes to what He has to say. If these words set here and after are the object of any other than Christ alone and Him crucified, I should have followed another course. If God alone is not glorified, I should have never begun nor should I continue. I hope I can say in all meekness, I honor my Father by ascribing all things to Him, by doing His will, seeking His glory, and honoring His name.

There should be only one who seeketh and receiveth all glory. There should be only one who is appointed to judge and condemn. I pray once again that are message is pure and continues in His gospel. That we preach no other message (Gal 1:4) “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:” And if we distort or preach anything else than Christ and Christ alone let us or those be accursed (Gal 1:8)

(Col 4:2-6) “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
