Rejecting His Son - Jhn 1:10-12

Jhn 1:10-12 (10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Who received Him?

What a stunning revelation of the truth. Christ the creator of this world was made flesh for the salvation of His elect. He was within reach of men. He was visible and could be received as the King of Kings and placed on His throne over all men. But the world received Him not. Instead of welcoming Him they refused Him and would banish Him from this earth. What makes this even more stunning is we repeat these acts of our ancestors. Christ was made flesh for our salvation and serves as our mediator. He is within reach to all that believe and call on His name. He is visible in His Word and is the King of Kings. But the world receives Him not. Instead of asking Him for His mercy they refuse Him and would banish Him from their hearts. Ah but when the world rejected Him He remained among us that He may fulfill the redemption of those that hated Him. And so is our hope that in grace though we reject Him He remains with us and fulfilled our redemption and makes us willing to receive Him.
