Marriage Jhn 2:1-2

Jhn 2:1-2  (1) And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: (2) And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

Why did Jesus chose here for His first public miracle?

Marriage is a divine institution given to us before the fall of man.  Its primary purpose is to signify and represent God’s relationship with His elect.  It is not without notice that in this occasion Christ may have chosen to display His sovereignty in the acts of His first public miracle.  It also may be noted the non  expressed approval of this public ceremony with His presence.  By gracing this festivity, the Lord distinguishes and glorifies this sacred institution.  It is for these reasons that two of His children should willing submit themselves one to the other in reverence to the Lord and join themselves together in Holy matrimony and become one flesh with a bond that cannot be broken.
