What a solemn calling these words can be. Let us all that are saints heed this call and through deed and voice do His will. Write or speak to someone, preach Jesus and Him crucified. Lead someone to the scriptures, pass these words along or add them to our distribution list as long as others may through some means bath in the word of God. I pray it pleases God to use these verses and our words to bring forth fruit and He hides our foolishness from the fields of wheat. If there is anyone that would like to add someone to this please let me know or copy them in a response back to everyone. May we be able to rejoice together.
Jhn 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Jhn 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
Jhn 4:37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
Jhn 4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
- What saying is Jesus referring to in Vs 37?
- How does these verses relate to our daily lives?
- What is meant in Vs 38 that we bestowed no labour?
This is a continuation from the previous verses dealing with the responsibilities of a Christian. In these countries there is four months between seed and harvest. Although this is true of wheat or corn it is not so with spiritual matters. Everyday is seedtime, watering time, and harvest time. Take a look around and see all the white fields of souls, all the people of all creeds and classes who are being made ready to harvest. Dear reader it may please God to use you to sow His seed or gather His fruit, to strengthen your voice through His Spirit to call to His elect. The disciples hear were wondering why Christ even spoke to this Samaritan. How often do we ourselves discount God’s ability and see someone as lost and with out hope and never even try to work that field. It is God who judges, God who calls, God who redeems, and God who glorifies (Rom 8:30). It is ours, through the Spirit to do the will of the Father and feed off the labors of love and rejoice together. His will is to sow and reap and be glorified by the fruits of His harvest. I pray this stirs us and weather it pleases Him to use us as sowers or reapers we shall together rejoice in the finished work of our labor were He is glorified.
