"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39)

Be this Our Work

Grace and peace to you. So many times when I write that I wonder if I do it because it sounds good or I really mean it. I pray good continues to unhardened my heart and those who read this and grants us a compassion and deep concern for others. May He strip away any foolishness and stir us through His Spirit to feast on the meat of His work.

Jhn 4:31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
Jhn 4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
Jhn 4:33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
Jhn 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

- How does doing the will of God fulfill us?
- What is the Fathers work?
- At what point is/was Christ work finished and who was it that completed it?

There is no greater responsibility or desire to those who are saints to glorify God and to preach Jesus and the message of come to see this man, Christ, our Savior. We too shall never hunger feeding on the will of Him who called us and sent us. Looking at these words of Christ and glancing back at the women at the well we, as disciples, can learn of the great commission of the Spirits calling. Using the words again of the Swiss evangelist C. H. Malan; "Precious reader, be this our work. May our object be Christ and inviting sinners to come to Jesus. No sooner had this women found Christ for herself, she forthwith entered into the blessed work of leading others to His feet. Let us go and do likewise. Let us by word and deed, as the Apostle says, seek together as many as possible around the person of the Son of God. O’ I pine for more zeal, more energy, more favor! May the Lord grant us such a deep serge of the value of immortal souls, the priceless ness of Christ, and the awful solemnity of eternity, as to compile us to more urgent and faithfully declare with the souls of man and sound in their ear that true and proper gospel."
