Jesus and the Father in Life Giving

We continue to examine the 7 examples given by Christ Himself of His deity. I pray it is God's decision to take these words and use them to His honor.

Jhn 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Jhn 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Jhn 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

- What comfort for the believer can we find here?
- Scriptural reference (Eph 2:1).

One of, if not the prominent underlying purpose of this gospel is to declare that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and that in believing ye might know you have eternal life through His name and deed (John 20:31). There is a strong reoccurring theme throughout the Book of John of the Devine deity of Christ. This and following are some of the more prominent examples. We will examine a seven-fold proof of the deity of Christ as we study verse 17 through 29. We will look as the Lord sets before the Jews and for all that read here an absolute equality and oneness with His Father and I have a personal hope that we may believe and have eternal life.

Once more He links Himself in perfect union with the Father. Our sixth comparison Jesus makes to the Father is in life and impartation of life to others. Those who believe on Jesus, believe also on He who sent Him. And they have passed from death to life, shedding off the old man and becoming new. For the hearing ear and the seeing eye are not qualifications for obtaining life but are evidence and consequences of having God given life, which can only be given by the Father and the Son. All the elect who were dead in sin will hear His voice and live.
