BONUS WORD: I told everyone we would be on these verses awhile. Not re-hashing the same thing over and over simply, hopefully, and prayfully giving other’s perspectives. Today might not as well have much salt seasoning it but I feel it is a good message. I pray God seasons these words and reveals His message
Extra credit: As I stress through mine and others words the election of His people by Him and the gravitas of this verse I do not want to lesson our responsibility as Christian and one of His sheep. To possibly balance today’s message the extra credit is on Duties and excises of grace by Henry Mahan
Jhn 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
- Can one believe and become a sheep (give scripture reference)?
When one believes he becomes redeemed; when one is redeemed he believes. These are contradictor comments. The second inherently true and laid out in the Holy Writ, the first you will find no scriptural nor doctrinal support for. And why is it that so many believe this and refuse what the bible clearly states, because they are not His sheep.
Contrary to much evangelical preaching, the sheep do not become sheep by believing. The truth is, they believe because they are already sheep. Redeemed by the finished work of Christ and to please God by believing.
John 17:2, John 17:6, John 17:9, John 17:11-12, John 17:24 all make it clear that we are a gift from God the Father to God the son. In fact, this is the one truth the word repeats over and over again in the last communication with His disciples. A vast difference from that which is repeated over and over again today.
