Let us be thankful that our Lord uses these earthly vessel of us to spread His Word. I pray God uses this message and words and strips away our foolishness and press in our heart that which is truth and fills us with His hand that He may be glorified.
Jhn 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
Jhn 6:12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
Jhn 6:13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
Jhn 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
- What is meant to be filled?
- Why would none be lost and what other guarantee do we have of this?
- Who performed the miracle?
When Jesus was offered 5 small loves and 2 fishes He did not reject or shrug off such a small offering to feed this large crowd, He gave thanks. God is pleased to use small and weak things for His glory. We can continue to see this in the vessels He uses to do this miracle. He distributed to His disciples so that by His grace they may be the vessels that feeds the thousands. God is pleased to use the instruments of His people to accomplish His works of grace. God uses means of man many times so that others may know His mercies and that He may be glorified (2 Cor 4:7; Eph 4:10-13). Let us humble ourselves to do His will and actively be disciples for Him.
"As much as they would"; Oh what precious, precious words these are. We should remember them when we hunger, when we find ourselves empty, when we mourn with a resolute spirit. There is no end and no limit to the gifts of God. How wonderful that we can partake from the table He has made for us until we are filled. And after that the remnants that remain are still abundant. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst (John 6:35). "As much as they would"; Oh how these words are perfect and glorious. I pray you to understand what it is to be filled by His grace. Oh, how marvelous and wonderful to be filled and with peace, joy, and the Holy Spirit.
