We have got a long one today. I pray that God opens our ears that we may be taught by His Spirit.
Jhn 6:41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
Jhn 6:42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
Jhn 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Jhn 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
Jhn 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
- What may have been the response of the Jews to vs 44?
- Who is the all in vs 45?
The design of GRACE: We see man’s true nature and depravity. No man can come to Him. We know that God has His children whom He will save but we see man’s inability or desire to come into His flock on their own. And in this we see the Father’s plan and purpose of redemption and the fullness of grace.
The means of GRACE: "and all thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be thy peace of thy children" (Ias 54:19). How perfect and wonderful the plan of the Lord to use the feebly means of man to draw His elect into the fold. How thankful that those who are drawn, come to Christ, and those are not drug blindly or ignorant. They are taught of God, awakened, and made willing (Rom 10:17). We see that ever person whom God opens their eyes and He gives them ears to hear, they hear the words of the Spirit and will come to Christ.
The results of GRACE: "and this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (I John 5:11-12). His divine purpose that all that are His, will believe and have everlasting life and that all that reject were never His and shall know His justice. And in the last days He will raise them up and each shall have their reward.
Salvation is an unmerited gift of the sovereign will of God that all elected by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and called by the Spirit will be raised from their grave to eternal glory to the praise of the Lord.
