I love this verse there is such security in it. I pray God touches these words and strips away any foolishness that we may add.
Jhn 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
- What came first the gift of the Father or act of man (any significance)?
I recently was reminded of a quote CH Spurgeon made that rang true when I read this verse. "On a sign above the doorway to eternal salvation on one side going in read ‘all that believeth on Him enter and find eternal security’ and as you entered and looked back at the sign on the other side said ‘you were chosen before the foundation of time’." How wonderful to journey and seek for security and finally discover that it was God that secured your place and insured your path. How marvelous and what peace that we know we are His because we believe and that we believe because we are His. How glorious that He cannot cast you out and that is He who invites you in. How perfect that all that are His elect will heed that call and come to Him and enter the straight gate. And how awesome that all that enter can look back and see the hands of God in their life and read the sign that He choose us before the foundation of the world. Praise the Lord for His will to be done.
