Trust for Our Bread

I pray God touches our hearts and that we all may be good stewards of His word. May He strip away our foolishness and use the remnants to feed us all.

Jhn 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
Jhn 6:6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
Jhn 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

- Did the disciples show any compassion towards the multitude?
- Why does God test if He knows the outcome?

Will I ever learn to trust fully on the sufficiency of God’s grace? Will I ever face trails and tribulations without looking to myself but instead instinctively look to Him. Will I ever be less feeble in my faith and be strong in my trust. Without God’s nurturing grace and gifts of faith the answer is easily no. Without God’s intercession and restraint of our will, Phillip is the essence of all of us. For those who believe this is not so with yourself I pray God gives you humility and in your darkness it pleases Him to show you light. For without God they too would be worse than Phillip in their ignorance and doubt. Their need and our need are to ask for faith; to plea for grace. To cry out of such a since of helplessness that we lean on Him alone (Phil 4:19). And in that emptiness we shall find an ocean of fullfillness. For God’s hands are in all things and it is He who proves and teacheth us. What a glorious thought that soon we may face unknown fears and troubles at the hand of God so that we may have the opportunity by God’s grace to grow in faith and comfort in His power.

On storehouses are feed;
From them let us learn
To trust for our bread;"
